Function and Description of the Nitrogen Generator Storage Tank

　　The adsorption towers of the nitrogen generator switch every minute, with each switching cycle requiring only 1–2 seconds for pressure ramp-up. This results in a very high instantaneous air consumption. Without the buffering effect of the air storage tank, compressed air would enter the system directly and be unable to handle such large volumes in an instant. Consequently, a significant amount of moisture- and oil-laden compressed air would bypass the treatment stage and directly enter the nitrogen generator, inevitably leading to molecular sieve poisoning, reduced service life of the molecular sieve, lower nitrogen production rates, and increased operating costs for the user.

　　The compressed air produced by the nitrogen generator is first routed to an air storage tank, where it remains for a specified period. During this time, impurities such as moisture and other foreign substances in the air can settle out, and the air temperature is also reduced. Even without a refrigerated dryer, the system can still deliver relatively high-quality air.

　　In essence, a storage tank functions like a reservoir: the air compressor serves as the air source, while the receiver tank acts as the reservoir. The receiver tank maintains the air pressure within a specified range by regulating pressure levels, thereby smoothing out pressure fluctuations, reducing the frequency of compressor starts, and even trapping impurities such as moisture and other contaminants present in the compressed air.
