How to Select Fittings for the Oxygen Piping of a Nitrogen Generator

　　The use of corrugated elbows in oxygen pipelines is strictly prohibited. When cold-bent or hot-bent carbon steel elbows are fabricated, the bend radius shall not be less than five times the pipe’s outer diameter; when seamless or press-welded carbon steel elbows are used, the bend radius shall not be less than 1.5 times the pipe’s outer diameter.

　　When using seamless or pressed bends made of stainless steel or copper-based alloys, the bend radius shall not be less than the pipe’s outer diameter. For steel plate spiral-welded pipes with a working pressure of less than 0.1 MPa, welded bends with a bend radius of at least 1.5 times the pipe’s outer diameter may be used; the inner wall of such bends shall be smooth, free of sharp edges, burrs, and weld bumps.

　　Branch fittings for oxygen pipelines shall preferably be seamless or press-welded components. When such components are unavailable, they shall be prefabricated either in the factory or on site; however, they must be machined to eliminate sharp corners, protruding features, and weld bumps. On-site hole-making and splicing are not recommended.
